Mercedes M Class Overhead Console
Donnelly Corporation was contracted by Mercedes to design and deliver the first M-Class overhead console. Donnelly’s industrial design studio was responsible for the initial concepts, feasibility, study models, clay models and 1st surface of the console. The console content included map reading lights, garage door opener storage, compass/temp display and a series of switching. Various levels of switching could be achieved with a interchangeable face plate that could add and subtract content. The studio interfaced with Mercedes design office in Germany.
